Experiences

With not only your generous monetary donations, but also the generous donation of your time as parent volunteers, we hold events all school year to enrich our students and foster school community! The Eaton PTO proudly hosts the following events:

    • STEAM Fair – The Eaton STEAM Fair is a student favorite and an exciting opportunity that exposes our children to the limitless possibilities and opportunities that reside in the world of Science. The fair also provides our students with insight into how scientists solve problems. Each participant is encouraged to a) pick a challenge, b) present a hypothesis, and c) research, observe and present his or her conclusion to his or her assigned mentor. Parent volunteers help set up for the fair, guide students to booths and help them set up, mentor students, and help clean up after the fair. • Art Show – Our students have amazing artistic talent. The Eaton Art Show will provide them with an opportunity to showcase their favorite pieces from the school year. Their work will be on display in the Spring for your viewing pleasure. Parents and families can show support  by taking a few moments to view their beautiful work. • International Night – We are a community rich with cultures from all over the world. Students and families get a chance to showcase their heritage through clothing and cuisine. Students prepare a tri-fold board describing their country of choice. We ask parents to encourage their children to visit all country tables to learn about other customs and traditions! • Ice Cream Social  – An annual favorite, this fun-filled social event is for everyone! Bring your whole family to the Eaton campus for ice cream, where you can reconnect with old friends and make some new ones, as the new school year starts. This also is a good time to meet your student’s classmates and their families! We need parent volunteers to sell and distribute ice cream, as well as set up and clean up.
    • Kindergarten Play Date – Incoming kindergarteners can enjoy a play date in the kindergarten yard, immediately after the kindergarten orientation. Kindergarten parents can meet one another and know that their kindergarteners will start the school year with newfound friends! Volunteers help set up, clean up, facilitate games, and greet the kindergarten parents.
    • Halloween Boo Bash – Eat, Drink, and be Scary! Students and their families can come and dance the night away while enjoying some light snacks and apple cider! Last year’s event featured a Haunted Tunnel, photo booth with fun props, ice cream truck, fun games, and prizes! Volunteers help set up, clean up and facilitate games/activities. Room Parents assist the PTO in coordinating Staff/Teacher gifts and celebratory activities throughout the week.
    • Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week – Our teachers and staff members are valuable assets to us, our children, and the broader community. In appreciation for all their efforts, hard work, and support, the PTO honors them with a Teacher Appreciation Week, typically held over the nationally-recognized week each year. On Friday, the PTO decorates the staff break room and hosts a luncheon for the teachers. It’s good fun and a great way to show our, well, appreciation!
    • Fun Run – Another annual favorite, this fun-filled fundraiser promotes Physical Education as students run (or walk) laps around the school yard! Students have a blast doing laps with their friends, listening to energetic music, and hydrating through mist sprays! Parent volunteers punch holes on students’ walking cards, distribute water, set up and clean up, and ensure that students stay on the walking trail. • Movie Night – Come and join us for a family-friendly movie night! Students are welcome to bring blankets and settle in for snacks while watching a movie with their friends and family! We can’t wait to see you there!
